Loving God, Loving Each Other, Loving the World

Storm of 2011

On April 28, 2011 a series of massive storms moved through Greene County.  The siding on our building was damaged extensively by golf-ball sized hail (primarily on the West side, although the North and South sides also sustained damage).  We also had some damage to the roof.

Although it is heartbreaking to see the building we all love and cherish damaged, the building is not Concord Baptist Church.  The church is the faithful servants who gather inside to worship God.  Thankfully, no one was injured.  Several people in the Camp Creek community lost their lives.  Our prayers go out to their loved ones and families.  Please pray also for all the relief workers and the church teams that will be helping to clean up and rebuild.

The following message is from Dr. Randy Davis, Executive Director-Treasurer of the Tennessee Baptist Convention:

Today our hearts are broken as we woke up to the devastation caused by not only yesterday's storms, tornados and torrential rain, but also the storms of the last several days. Our hearts are broken for the people across Tennessee, as well as the citizens in our neighboring states.

William Maxwell sent an email out to key member of our TBC team at 6:30 a.m. today, setting in motion the formulation of our response plan. Last evening I communicated with Rick Lance, Executive Director, of the Alabama Baptist Convention about the devastation caused there.

Our response will be quick, calculated and compassionate. Please be in much prayer for those that have lost family members and property. Please be praying for all of those who are responding to assist in these areas of destruction.

I want to express a deep word of gratitude and appreciation for all of those that are a part of the Disaster Relief ministry in our state. .

We will be updating information on our web site at www.tnbaptist .org throughout the days ahead

In Him,

Randy C. Davis
